DSCN6973It was a hot and windy day, but the annual Greene County Chamber and Tourism Golf Outing brought members and comradery on the Jefferson Community Golf Course Friday.

Ten, four-person teams competed and there was a tie for first-place with the team from Mumma and Pedersen Law Firm defeating the team from Wilcox Law Firm on a playoff hole to claim the top spot with 13-under par for 18 holes. Following the golf outing was a catered meal provided by Uptown Cafe, along with other prizes like longest drive and raffle drawings for prizes. Tourism and Events Coordinator Michael Reese commented on how he thought the event went.

“Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how the day went. It was a great opportunity to meet a lot of our Chamber members and to actually sit down with them and share ideas. I know some had heard me on the radio and to put a name with a face together I think was beneficial for everyone.”

Reese says Friday’s event was a launching pad for the Chamber’s next event, which is hosting a Home Base Iowa summit back at the golf course in less than two weeks. Reese thanks everyone who participated in the golf outing and all the donations for prizes at the dinner.
