Saving lives in Adair County just got a little bit easier.
Adair County Health System Emergency Medical Services presented Adair County with 13 automated external defibrillators Tuesday. The EMS Department received a $15,000 grant from the Schildberg Foundation and an additional $474 from the Adair County Health Foundation to purchase the machines. ACHS staff handed out the defibrillators and provided training to those who received them.
These AEDs are compatible to those at Adair County Memorial Hospital. This will allow patients to be attached to hospital monitors without having to change adhesive pads. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Adair Police Department, Adair County Conservation, and the Adair County Extension Office all received a defibrillator.
