The last part of this week is busy for the Fall athletes at Greene County High School. The lone cross-country meet of the season hosted by the Rams is tomorrow, there is football on Friday, and volleyball on Thursday and Saturday.
A look at the activities calendar shows the Ram Invitational cross-country meet at Spring Lake State Park northwest of Grand Junction tomorrow for high school and middle school girls and boys. Starting time is 4:30 p.m. for the middle school race with high school racing starting at 5 p.m. The Rams host Perry, Panorama, ACGC, Paton-Churdan, and 21 other programs.
The Greene County football team hits the road for the first time this season when they go to Grimes on Friday to take on 2-0 Dallas Center-Grimes. The Mustangs are highly rated and are fresh off ending Pella’s 42-game winning streak last week. The Rams are 0-2 with losses to Kuemper Catholic and Harlan Community. Game time Friday on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com is 7:30 p.m. with coverage starting at 6:30 p.m.
The volleyball Rams are in Des Moines tomorrow night to face Saydel in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opener for Greene County. They play in Eldora on Saturday for the South Hardin Tournament.
