Two early literacy programs are starting back up tomorrow at the Jefferson Public Library.
Ready Readers Story Time is for kids age two to six-years-old to enjoy stories, crafts, games and rhymes, while developing early literacy skills in the children’s department. The story time portion takes place from 10 to 11am, with a social time to follow from 11 to 11:30. The program will be on Wednesdays from September 6th through October 18th.
The return of another program that will enter its second year is the Lapsit Story Time. It is for infants and toddlers from newborn to 23-months. Lapsit Story Time is about the adult and child interaction with stories, movement, rhymes and songs. Story time will be from 10 to 10:45am on Wednesdays from September 6th through October 18th, and a social time from 10:45 to 11:30. Library Director Jane Millard invites parents and children to both be a part of the program.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for new parents to get to know each other and grandparents to interact with their grandkids. So we invite them to stay beyond the hour that we spend together with the activities that we have planned.”
Both programs are free and no pre-registration is necessary.
