Monday is Labor Day, which means several city and county offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Perry City Hall, the post office, and the water works office will be closed Monday. Also the public library will be closed both Sunday and Monday, and the McCreary Community Building will be closed the whole week due to work on the electrical systems. Additionally, there will be no garbage or recycling pickup Monday. Routes normally scheduled Monday will be picked up Tuesday, and Tuesday’s pickups will be pushed back to Wednesday. There will be no yard waste pickup on Wednesday, so the next pickup day will be September 13th for areas north of Willis Avenue.

All Dallas County offices in Adel will also be closed Monday. The Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday morning will not be affected by the holiday. However, the Perry City Council meeting will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m., as opposed to its regular time on Monday. Finally, there will be no classes on Labor Day for Perry and ADM schools.
