The phrase “age before beauty” comes to mind when looking at day four of the Guthrie County Fair. Sunday, everyone 70 and over receives free admission. Later that evening, the 2018 Guthrie County Fair Queen will be crowned.
The day begins with church services at 7 and 9am, followed by the cattle show at 10. The free carnival rides and archery lessons will also start at 10. The morning session concludes with the presentation of the JR Hodges award winner, followed by the 4-H Foundation pie auction, both in the large show ring.
The monster arm wrestling championships begin at 5pm and the rabbit hopping showcase starts at 7pm. The Guthrie County Fair Queen will be crowned at 6:30pm at the grandstand. The Arch Allies concert and fireworks will follow at 8:30, along with the Teen Town Dance. The grandstand events are $15 for those 10 and over. Nine and under are free.
On Monday, the Parade of Champions will begin at 9:15am followed by the 4-H/FFA Premium Auction in the large show ring. The carnival rides will run from 10am-3pm and the Fairgrounds Secretary’s Office will close at 3pm.
The Big Red Radio will also be there broadcasting live with results, playing music, and giving important updates both days. We will be broadcasting from 10am-noon and 1-6pm on Sunday and 10am-noon and 1-3pm on Monday .
