Hundreds of people gathered on the bell tower plaza in Jefferson for a pep rally for the Greene County School District.
The evening started with the cheerleaders warmed up the crowd with a few different cheers and chants. Then each of the fall high school sport programs were introduced including: volleyball, cross country, swimming, band and color guard, cheerleading and football. Each respective sports program’s head coach spoke and introduced all of the students that participate in their various sports. A highlight of the evening was when head football coach Mitch Moore talked about having his players do community service as a key to running a successful football program.
“And all the credit goes to these kids. Just last night we were doing some community service work and we just reached over 500 hours of community service. Unbelievable for these kids to do that and I’m really proud of them for doing so.”
The pep rally was sponsored by the Greene County Activities Booster Club.
