Summer vacation for area students officially ends tomorrow, as the Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn districts head back to school.

For many Perry students the process starts today, as there is freshman orientation from 1-3:15 p.m. Then from 6-7:30 will be a middle school open house. Tomorrow, Perry students in grades 1-12 will start classes. Kindergarten will commence on Thursday, and preschool will begin a week from today, August 29th. At ADM, all grade levels will start tomorrow. In both districts, school will be released one hour early tomorrow, and ADM will also be dismissed an hour early on Thursday.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year for Perry, they will have winter break from December 22nd through January 2nd, spring break from March 12-16, and the last day of school is scheduled for May 25th. For ADM, winter break will be from December 23rd through January 2nd, spring break from March 9-18, and their last day of school is also scheduled for May 25th. However, for both districts, the final day of the school year is subject to change, depending on the number of days school is cancelled due to snow.
