The Greene County School Board met Wednesday night in regular session.
The Board approved the 2017-18 coach’s handbook and the staff handbook with an adjustment made to the reduction in force policy formula. The Board then approved the administration’s recommendation for the retention of a student involved in a closed session at the beginning of the meeting.
The Board additionally approved the 2016-17 treasurer’s annual report, appointed Sid Jones as School Board Treasurer and Brenda Muir as School Board Secretary for the 2017-18 school year, appointed Mumma and Pederson as legal counsel for the district, the 2017-18 depository resolution, the 2017 fall sports official list and a Lakes Partnership School Consortium agreement as presented. The Board approved $276,000 agreement with Daimler Truck Financial to lease three school buses, board policy changes to the school calendar to add that August 23rd is the earliest school start date and the district is running on 180 days or 1,080 hours in the school year.
Finally, the Board decided not to move forward with a pilot project through the Department of Education to monitor a school building’s HVAC system to find better energy efficiencies.
