The public is invited to the fourth annual barbecue and ag supply auction in Jefferson.
The Greene County Fair Foundation is hosting the annual event as a fundraiser for their third livestock building project. Fair Board President Bob Allen says they are wanting to build a new cattle barn. In the past three years, they have built a new sheep and goat barn, along with a new swine barn. This week, the Greene County Secondary Roads Department started tearing down the old cattle barns.
The auction will take place on Tuesday, September 5th at 7pm at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. A social hour begins at 5pm and dinner will be served at 6pm. Auction items are mostly ag-related and include: crop seed, chemicals, and other agricultural and livestock supplies and services.
Proceeds from the auction will go toward the building project. For more information or to purchase a ticket, contact any fair board member or call 712-652-3685.
