The Perry Jayette volleyball team will enter 2017 with a fresh approach and a new coach as practice opens up across the state. John Fulton doesn’t have specific goals quite yet but he is certain on one big area that he wants to see improvement in.
“We need to compete better. Last year’s record is what it is. This year I want the kids to really battle and compete for every single point. I want all of our kids and not just the varsity to buy into the value of competing. The freshmen, the junior varsity, the middle school…everybody. We might lose some games but I want to make sure the other team is earning the victories and that we’re making them work hard.”
Perry finished last season with an overall record of 8-26 and lost to Bondurant Farrar in the first round of Regionals 3-0. The Jayettes lost 3 seniors off last year’s team including Grace Marburger, Maddie West and AdrianThompson.
