The Iowa State Fair continues this week and Greene County has already had several results come in.
Marianne Carlson continues to dominate the food category at the state fair. The Jefferson resident won first place in the peach pie contest, along with a first place finish in the pimento cheese challenge while also earning a $75 gift card. She also took home second place overall in the bread baking category and earned a $150 gift card. Carlson also won the coffee cakes category, taking home a $50 cash prize.
Other results include: Avril and Beccas Shahan from Jefferson, who won the age three division for the look-alike contest. Twelve-year-old Gretah Johnson advanced to the semi-finals in the sprout division for her tap dance solo in the Bill Riley Talent Show.
