Even though the Panorama boys and girls cross country teams took home top 15 finishes in their respective state meets last year, there seems to be more excitement entering this year.
So many things to be excited about for Panorama head cross country coach Greg Thompson and one thing that is bringing him the most happiness is the experienced roster coming back. The experience returns in bulk for the Lady Panthers who return all 7 of their state meet runners from last year who went on to take 10th overall.
Raccoon Valley Radio caught up with coach Thompson and talked about the feeling surrounding him with the experienced rosters he has coming back.
“As a coach it’s a great feeling knowing that I’ve got every girl on the team back and I think it helps them. A lot of them who didn’t run last summer ran this summer just because they had that experience and got to run at state track. It’s kind of a momentum building thing that hey what he’s telling us to do is working so lets just do it. And they don’t complain, they just get out and do it,” smiled coach Thompson.
Both Panther squads continue on with week number two of official practices today.
