Deal’s Orchard may look a little different these days.

That’s because one important improvement was recently made to the tourist attraction in Greene County. Benji Deal explains.

“Well we put in kind of an underpass in or a pedestrian walkway to cross under K Avenue, the main gravel road. We did that so we could make use of some land that my brother Chris had purchased across the road there. We’re now going to have our corn maze located there.”

He points out that one reason they wanted to make the change is to make it safer for people to get to the corn maze and not have to cross the very busy gravel road. Deal adds that they can design the corn maze to be more efficient too.

“It’ll be about the same size, it’ll be more square though. Before it was kind of three rectangles, one on each end and kind of a skinny one in the middle. And now it’s just kind of more square shape and it’ll be easier to design.”

Chris Deal says they have a 450-foot walking path, which includes a ten-foot diameter and 86-foot long metal tunnel that’s under the road.
