The 12th annual Linden Daze event is returning this weekend, and an extra day has been added.

The festivities will start with a special free movie event on Friday at 8 p.m. They will show the new live action “Beauty and the Beast” across from the library. Free popcorn will be provided to attendees, and people are encouraged to bring their own seating. The majority of the festivities are happening Saturday, starting at 7 a.m. with the Lions Club pancake breakfast. For a free-will donation, people can get a meal of pancakes, sausage, eggs, and other breakfast foods.

The annual Linden Days parade will start at 11 a.m., followed by the car and bike show at 11:30. At 1 p.m. there will be a host of activities, including: a bags tournament on Main Street; a cribbage tournament at the fire station; kids games on Main Street; and bingo at the Lions Building. At 2:30 there will be a magic show by Jonathan May, which is a yearly family event. New to this year will be a baked good auction at 3 p.m. The day will conclude with music performances by Sheri Hildenbrand and the Ghost Riders Band, as well as the Street Dance on Main Street. Additionally, people can play “Cow Pie Bingo” for just $5. If the cow does its business on your square, you can win the $100 prize.

Organizer Judy Hutchins feels Linden Daze is a fun celebration and invites everyone to attend. “We kind of center a little bit more around anybody that’s a kid at heart. From the real little ones to the older ones. So we try to do a little bit of everything for everybody.”
