Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium and the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management are hosting a special awareness class today.

The class will cover the different types of railcars, damages to railcars, how to mitigate different types of accidents and communicating with responding agencies. The goal of the class is to inform rural responders and the general public in order to be better prepared for situations that can happen on the railroad. The class will be led by a Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium representative.

The free class is at the Stuart Fire Station from 8am to 5pm today.
