An investigation is ongoing into two separate sexual abuse cases in Greene County.

Wednesday, 46-year-old James Hubert Exline was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff’s office and charged with a Class A Felony for his second or subsequent offense for second degree sexual abuse and a Class C Felony for third degree sexual abuse. According to court documents, Exline is accused of sexually abusing his 12-year-old daughter, Paige Exline, from June 2016 to April 2017. He was previously convicted of a sexually predatory offense, which is why the charges are a higher felony class. He was already in the Greene County Jail for a probation violation. He is currently being held under a $1 million bond.

The Greene County Sheriff’s office is working a separate case against the 12-year-old’s brother. Nineteen-year-old Noah Exline has pled not guilty to seven Class B Felony charges for second degree sexual abuse. In an interview Paige gave, she claimed Noah abused her seven times between July of 2014 to June of 2016. Noah was arrested in April and his trial is scheduled for September 26th.

However, Paige was one of the victims that died in a house fire in Guthrie Center on May 15th. She was the sole witness and victim in both cases. Sheriff Jack Williams says they are working with the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office, while investigating their own charges.

“We investigated the sexual assaults by James and Noah (Exline). Deputy Dave Kersey did that and did a really good job on it. And they we also assisted with interviews and search warrants that were conducted for the Guthrie County case.”

Online court documents show that James’ preliminary court hearing is scheduled for August 18th.
