The 2017 Iowa State Fair is currently underway in Des Moines.
Greene County has 35 static and communication exhibits that qualified for the state fair from the county fair last month. Another highlight is the state fair queen contest. Greene County will be represented by Gwen Black, who is this year’s county fair queen. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what she is most excited for with competing for the state fair queen crown.
“I’m definitely looking forward to meeting some of the other (county fair) queens. Through FFA I know some queens already and some other of them are on my district officer team. So I’m really excited to see them and I get to hang out with them that state fair week.”
Raccoon Valley Radio will also bring you state fair results from our primary coverage area. The Iowa State Fair runs now through August 20th.
