The deadline for Dallas County college students to apply for the Nu Alpha Gamma scholarships is approaching.

The organization is offering two $500 scholarships to college juniors or seniors who graduated from any Dallas County high school. The applicants can be male or female, but they must be education majors. Nu Alpha Gamma, an affiliate of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Professional Women Educators, has awarded the scholarships since 2000. Treasurer Maureen Becker says they are looking for students who are hard-working, show leadership and initiative, and are heavily involved in campus activities.
