It’s a mixed bag of emotions for today in Lawrence Kansas with the Hershey’s Junior Olympic National Track & Field Championships for two ADM track stars.

The class 3A Iowa high school girls 100 and 200 meter dash champion Keaton Kester was unable to qualify in the 17-18 division 200 meter dash finals set for today and the 100 meter dash finals set for tomorrow. Never the less Kester had a great time in both events making it to the semi-final round in both.

With Kester no longer in contention for the 100 or 200 meter dash crowns, the last thing on the docket for ADM athletes rests squarely on the shoulders of soon to be junior standout Sadie Juergens in the 800 meter run. Juergens is in the girls 15-16 division and the path to enter the final race required Juergens to be in the top 8 which she did with a 6th place time of 2:19.32. Juergens will now take on the rest of the field for the 15-16 girls 800 meter final this afternoon beginning at 1:15 pm. Juergens will be in lane 8.
