The Greene County Chamber once again received support for the junior premium auction at the county fair earlier this month.
Close to 40 businesses and organizations donated close to $3,000 for the auction. The premium auction allows businesses, organizations and individuals to make donations toward the work that all county 4-H’ers did at the county fair. Chamber Office Coordinator Sheilah McGregor-Pound explains the process.
“As we collect the money from our Chamber membership and anybody else as well, each time the Chamber wins a bid, then these businesses that have contributed are announced.”
Greene County will send 36 4-H static exhibits to next month’s Iowa State Fair. Additionally, there were three working exhibits that qualified for the state fair, along with three communication exhibits.
The Iowa State Fair is from August 10th through the 20th.
