A request for a continuance in the case against Marc and Misty Ray has been granted, and now their jury trial won’t commence until the end of October.
The Rays were the adoptive parents of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray, who died on May 12th, and their trial for their involvement in her death was originally scheduled for August 28th. According to court documents, that date has been pushed back to October 30th at 9:30 a.m., with a pretrial conference scheduled for September 8th at 9 a.m. Both Marc and Misty are being charged on 11 counts related to Sabrina’s death.
Three defendants in the case have not yet had their trial dates officially moved, but continuance requests were made. Justin Ray, the biological son of Marc and Misty, and Carla Bousman, Misty’s mother, are scheduled to stand trial on September 18th. The trial for Josie Bousman, Misty’s niece, is scheduled to begin on October 30th. All five suspects have pleaded not-guilty to all charges. They are currently being held in the Dallas County Jail. Justin is being held on a $100,000 bond, Carla on $500,000 bond, and the other three on $1 million bond each.
Raccoon Valley Radio will continue to bring more information on this case as it’s made official.
