Dallas County Public Health’s Health Navigation program was recently honored as one of 41 local health department programs to receive a prestigious award.

The National Association of County and City Health Officials gave the program a Model Practice Award. The award celebrates local health departments for developing programs that demonstrate exemplary and repeatable practices for a critical local health need. The Health Navigation program is a free service aimed at preventing health problems through proper preparation, practices, and resources. It was one of over 100 submissions for the award.

The Health Navigation program, as an award recipient, has now been added to an online, searchable database, which will allow other health departments across the country the chance to implement it as well.

The program is available for anyone in Dallas County with either a self-referral or a referral from a health care provider. For more information, call 515-465-2483.
