2017 Summer Reading ProgramAn extra special party is happening this coming Monday for those kids who participated in the summer reading program with the Jefferson Public Library.

Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says the “Building Teamwork Outdoor Obstacle Challenge” is happening at Russell Park from 1 to 3pm on Monday. Even though the library’s final party was held earlier this month, Clark notes this is a bonus party for all the summer reading program participants, to reward their hard work for reading over 68,000 minutes during the program. She explains some of the activities they will be doing.

“We’re going to have tug-of-war. We’re going to have some relay races, probably did the three-legged race when you were a child, so we’re going to do that one. We’ve brought in some fun, new ideas that we’re going to do this year, there’s some hopper balls and things like that. So we’re just going to have a really good time, and of course the water events that we’re going to do.”

The challenge party is free, due to donations from participants of the library’s trivia contest, as well as the Jefferson Elks Club.
