The Greene County Fair might be over for the year, but work has started to replace the third and final livestock building on the fairgrounds.

Fair Board President Bob Allen says they are looking to replace the cattle barns as part of their three-phase process. The first two phases were replacing the lamb and sheep building, along with the swine building.

“We’ve been pretty ambitious the last four years to get to where we are and to basically have this three-phase project completed in five years, we’re just very fortunate. And we couldn’t have done it without the support of the community and for everyone who’s help make this happen. It’s truly been a team effort.”

While final details of the project are still being finalized, Allen adds they are anticipating to have the new cattle barns up by the 2018 Greene County Fair.
