Despite an early lead for ADM baseball last night, their opposition in Creston capitalized on a four run sixth inning to defeat the Tigers 4-1 in non conference play.
That lead ADM held was a slim 1-0 lead that they obtained in the third inning thanks to Nick Lindgren’s 10th double of the year to score Kinnick Sutton from third. That lead held up all the way until the bottom of the sixth where a 2 run RBI single and a 2 run RBI double gave the Panthers the lead which they would never look back from.
Despite the loss ADM starter Dalton Hews dazzled the Creston line up going four innings and giving up no runs off of just two hits while sending 8 Panther batters back to the dugout via strikeouts. Hews also issued just one walk. The junior got the no decision on the night as the loss would be slapped on Cody Osgood who gave up three runs on three hits while Matthew West allowed one more run on the mound.
Offensively, ADM earned that one run by matching Creston with seven hits in the ball game while defensively the Tigers committed four errors on the night. Although Nick Lindgren posted ADM’s only RBI for the contest with a 2-4 night, Kade Overton was a stingy at bat as well going 3-4 with three singles.
With the loss ADM baseball now drops to 18-12 overall with a 10-6 non conference record. The Tigers will be back in action to wrap up the regular season tonight at home against 20-15 Pella in a non conference battle tonight. The match up will take place at Tiger Field with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 pm.
