Starting today, Dallas County Hospital will be hosting weekly programs on diabetes prevention.
The program was developed in part through the Centers for Disease Control specifically to prevent type 2 diabetes. It focuses on lifestyle changes that can have lasting results. The program will be held every Tuesday in the new Wellness Education Center, with sessions in English and Spanish. The English program will be held from 4-5 p.m., and the Spanish program from 6-7 p.m.
Cost for the program is $10, though people enrolled in the hospital’s Well and Wise program can attend any class for free. The annual membership cost is $20. For more information or to register, call Sally Swenson at 515-465-7512, or Lupita Chavez at 515-465-7684.
