After putting twelve hits up against Glidden-Ralston this past Thursday, the ACGC baseball team manufactured just three hits on Saturday as the Chargers fell to Underwood, thus ending their season by a 7-0 final.

A big reason for ACGC’s nearly absent offense came from Underwood’s senior pitcher Guy Sudmann who’s 14 strikeouts led to the three hit shutout for the Charger bats. Underwood’s offense meanwhile connected on 9 hits and delivering on 7 RBI’s throughout the night. Five of those RBI’s started at the top as Underwood lead-off batter Nick Ravlin poked two home runs on the night with a perfect 4-4 appearance at the plate.

Underwood struck early with a 3-0 lead after just one inning while adding on to the lead with one run in the 4th inning and three runs in the sixth inning for the eventual game winning 7-0 score.

The loss unfortunately means the Chargers don’t get to move on in the district 15 tournament but instead has their season come to a close. ACGC baseball ends their 2017 campaign with a record of 5-18. Underwood will now move on to round two of district postseason play heading to Neola to take on West Central Valley.
