The free summer lunch program with the Greene County School District is going on now through the end of July.

District Reading Specialist Julie Neal says they are looking for volunteers to help read to the students during the literacy lunch program that goes on during the free summer lunch program. She says adult volunteers can read to the students after they finish their lunch for about an hour. The program is supported by the Jefferson Public Library.

The free summer lunch program is from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the Greene County Elementary School through July 28th. It is also at the Greene County Intermediate School in Grand Junction from 11am to 12:30pm. Both sites serve meals Monday through Friday. Anyone over the age of 18 can also enjoy a meal for $3.25.
