Humans aren’t the only creatures that build. To prove it, the Perry Public Library’s kids summer reading program is hosting the Iowa State University Insect Zoo for a program called “The Building of Bugs.”
The event is for kids in the program who are in kindergarten through second grade. The program is interactive and will focus on the many buildings made by bugs. It will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the large meeting room at the library, and there is no cost or registration required for summer reading program participants.
Deputy Library Director Misty VonBehren reminds people of all ages that they can still join the program and participate in events like this one. “It’s not too late to join the summer reading program. So if you have been busy for the first part of summer just come on into the library, we can get you fixed up. There’s still plenty of activities and prizes to earn. So we would encourage you to come in.”
