The Perry community showed up in large numbers Saturday at the Hy-Vee and Dallas County Hospital Health Fair.
From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. attendees were educated in the Hy-Vee Health Mobile, learned about insurance benefits, had free blood pressure tests, and were able to speak to several medical professionals. LifeServe’s Blood Mobile was also there holding a blood drive and offering people free ice cream from Hy-Vee in exchange for donations. Hy-Vee Organizer Larry Vodenik said events like the Health Fair are good ways for them to help the public. “We try and partner with the community, and one of the big things that Hy-Vee is a big part of is health and wellness. And this kind of takes care of both of those two things.”
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio broadcasted live from the Health Fair, playing music and giving public address announcements.
