Kyle Nevitt had been waiting for a game like this. The senior and future DMACC star enjoyed a career night driving in 7 runs as Perry blasted Carroll 16-2 in Raccoon River Conference baseball. He entered the game with 9 RBI’s in his first 17 games. Nevitt opened up the game early in the second inning when he sent a 3-2 pitch over the right field wall for a grand slam. It was his first home run of the season. Nevitt later added a sacrifice fly and 2-run double in the 4th. The game was called after 5 innings due to the mercy rule. Perry scored 6 runs in the second and 9 more in the fourth sending 14 batters to the plate. Janier Puente, Adan Medina and Austin Carpenter each finished with 2 hits. Perry pounded out 16 hits on the night. Alexis Garrido earned his third win of the season pitching 5 solid innings allowing 2 runs off 6 hits. He improves to 3-2. Carroll committed 7 errors with 5 of those mistakes coming in the bottom of the 4th inning.
Perry improves to 6-12 on the year and will host Boone tonight in a 7:00 varsity game.
