The ADM Tiger softball team officially acquired their third conference series sweep of 2017 last night doing so by the 7-6 final over the Lady Toreadors in Boone.
It was quite the offensive night with a contest providing a combined 22 total hits, 10 of which came from the Lady Tigers who officially ended the night with 7 runs, 10 hits, just one error, although 10 runners left on base. The Lady Toreadors finished the night with 6 runs although out hitting ADM with 12 hits and no errors with 8 left on base.
ADM’s scoring didn’t pick up until the third inning already trailing Boone 1-0 although that would change quickly as despite two outs ADM connected on five straight hits resulting in four runs. ADM picked up two more runs in the 5th inning by Kila Carbine picking up her 30th RBI of the season. After Boone tied the game up with one run in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth, ADM freshmen Abbie Hlas would cross home plate on a wild pitch in the sixth which proved to be the eventual game winner.
Speaking of Hlas, the talented hurler posted up 7 strong innings of work giving up 12 hits and 7 runs although just five of those runs were earned. Hlas issued just two walks while connecting on 5 strikeouts, 3 of which were caught looking. Hlas received the win on the night improving to 11-12 on the season while Boone’s Emma Dighton took the loss giving up 6 earned runs while issuing two walks and one strikeout.
The Lady Tigers now improve to 17-12 overall and evening up their conference mark at 6-6 after a three game conference winning streak. ADM will be back in action tonight with a non conference match up against Norwalk at home. First pitch from Tiger Field set for 7:30 pm.
