The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, Sheriff Jack Williams shared information about changes to the 28E agreement for the City of Scranton about providing law enforcement and an increase in the rates they would like to charge to the City. No formal action was taken by the Board.
Assistant to the County Attorney Thomas Laehn then reported on a training conference he attended last week. From that conference, Laehn proposed that the Board purchase a software program called Pro Law. It allows for items to be entered automatically to the electronic filing system, which Laehn believes will create efficiencies in the County Attorney’s office. The Board agreed to the $5,700 purchase, but will check with the informational technology department before making a final decision.
County Engineer Wade Weiss then gave an update. He said the Secondary Roads Department, along with the Iowa Department of Transportation will be prepping and applying calcium-chloride to the unofficial, gravel detour routes around Grand Junction for the Highway 30 overpass bridge project. He also mentioned that the County Road N-65 bridge deck has been poured and anticipates the project to be completed by August.
Finally, the County Treasurer’s tax sale took place. About 40 attended the sale for 150 parcels.
