A special traveling exhibit will be stationed in Jefferson over the 4th of July holiday.

The 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit is coming from New York City and will be at Wild Rose Casino and Resorts in Jefferson July 1st through the 4th. The exhibit includes pieces from the Twin Towers in New York following the tragic events on September 11, 2001, along with other facts about the event. It was started by the Siller Family with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, who was a New York City firefighter who lost his life running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers on 9/11. The mobile exhibit was created in 2013.

Wild Rose Jefferson Marketing Manager Aaron Harn says a welcoming event is scheduled for Friday, June 30th. The exhibit will start in Perry at the Shopko/Hy-Vee parking lot at noon and travel on Highway 141 and enter into Jefferson on Highway 4. The exhibit will then make its way to Wild Rose. Harn is asking for interested individuals to help lead the exhibit into Jefferson.

“Anybody that wants to be a part of that motorcade or procession is more than welcomed to join us that day. It’ll be a lot of firefighters, a lot of police, a lot of veterans organizations and we welcome anybody to help jump on board and make this a great event.”

Harn adds that this same exhibit was at one of their sister properties with Wild Rose in Emmetsburg last year.
