On one of the last days of the school year, Greene County elementary students got to celebrate their positive behavior with a carnival.

Kindergarten through third grade students earned over 70,000 tickets as part of the school’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program. It teaches and reinforces behaviors by giving specific feedback while positively reinforcing those behaviors. Each time a staff or faculty member saw a student doing something positive, that student would earn a ticket.

At the carnival, kids got to play a variety of games. Some of those games included bowling, Minute-To-Win-It, and Twister, along with face painting and much more.

The elementary staff was assisted by volunteers from People’s Trust and Savings Bank, Home State Bank and high school students.
