The Tori’s Angels Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser on June 24th to support 4-year-old Mara Nevins of Adel and her family.

Mara is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for anaplastic ependymoma, an aggressive brain tumor. She underwent surgery in December to resect the tumor, then had 33 rounds of radiation in Iowa City before beginning chemotherapy treatment at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines. Tori’s Angels, a volunteer organization based out of Panora, raises funds to support the families of children who have life-threatening medical conditions by paying for all medical expenses not covered by insurance. Including Mara, they currently support 21 area children and their families.

The event on June 24th will be held at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School. There will be a luncheon and silent auction, with festivities running from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to Tori’s Angels Foundation in support of the Nevins family.
