Today is the deadline to register for the upcoming Greene County Treasurer’s tax sale.

County Treasurer Donna Lawson says there are about 200 parcels included in the annual tax sale. It is for properties that are delinquent on property taxes for September 2016 and this past March. Those that register will be included as a potential investor at the tax sale. Anyone who purchases a parcel at the tax sale earns a two-percent investment into that property. Once an individual claims the property, they will pay for the back taxes on it and will receive a tax certificate.

Registration deadline is by 4:30pm today at the County Treasurer’s office in the Greene County courthouse. There is a $15 registration fee that is payable when you register.

The tax sale will take place in the supervisors boardroom this coming Monday at 9am.
