The Dallas County Adopt-a-Roadway program recently had a few more miles taken off their hands by the Harrison family.
Former county employee Cindy Harrison and her family wanted to adopt a portion of County Road P58 in memory of her recently departed husband, Brad. Their application was presented at the most recent Dallas County Board of Supervisors meeting, and they unanimously approved the request. The stretch of P58 the family has adopted is in between county roads F60 and F51, and the family will handle litter removal in the area.
According to the roads department, there are currently around 26 dedicated groups sponsoring 56 miles of Dallas County roads. There are around 126 miles of hard-surfaced roads still available for adoption. For more information, people are encouraged to contact Dallas County Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management.
