spring_lakeTomorrow is the final day of the Bell Tower Festival and the main event is the free kids fishing derby.

Greene County Conservation Director Dan Towers says they’ve been sponsoring the event at Spring Lake Park for over 20 years. He points out that they usually see the same groups of kids.

“But a lot of them started when they’re five-years-old and now they’re too old to be eligible anymore. We do see the families that come and we appreciate that they show up year after year. But as some of those fall out, we get new ones. And we stay at that level of about 100 entries, which is just a nice number to work with.”

The fishing derby starts at 1pm and kids ages 4 to 15 can participate. Registrations will begin prior to the start of the contest. Each participant will receive a prize, with the bigger prizes awarded to those who catch the biggest fish.

The fishing derby is a free event.
