The Jefferson Police Department recently released their results from the latest special Traffic Enforcement Program from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
Captain Heath Enns says from May 22nd through June 4th, officers issued 51 citations and 351 warnings. Twelve citations were issued for registration violations, while the most warnings were issued for vehicle equipment violations at 61. Last year during the Memorial Day sTEP Wave, officers issued 16 citations and 70 warnings.
Officers also investigated ten accidents, assisted two motorists, conducted two canine searches and served one arrest warrant during that same time period.
