This is Bell Tower Festival weekend and there’s lots going on to enjoy.
Friday was the opening ceremonies in which Jack Lashier and Vernon Eagle were recognized as this year’s Tower of Fame Award winners. Lashier will be joined by Eagle’s daughter as the grand marshals for the Jefferson Rotary Club parade that starts at 11am.
There’s lots of free entertainment happening throughout the day today. The Show & Shine Car Show is on the corner of Vine and State streets, and the motorcycle show will be in the People’s Trust and Savings Bank parking lot. In Home State Bank’s parking lot will be a tractor show, an art show is at the Greene County Historical Museum and there’s a petting zoo on Shadran’s south lawn. You can participate in a free spelling bee contest in the afternoon at the Greene County Community Center and a trivia contest at Jefferson City Hall. Plus, enjoy all the plaza stage entertainment starting at 1:45 and the Bill Riley Talent Show at 5pm.
Sunday rounds out the festival with a free kids fishing derby at Spring Lake Park at 1pm and the final day of the art show is tomorrow at the museum.
