The annual Perry appliance and scrap metal drop off day will be held this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
According to City Administrator Sven Peterson, people can take their unused or broken appliances to the Perry Recycling Center, which is located at the corner of Ivy Place and Highway 141. Peterson describes what can and can’t be brought in for the drop off event. “So you can bring out pretty much any appliances, except you know dirty appliances or an appliance that the power went out and it was filled with food, and there’s nasty food in there. And then monitors and TVs will be accepted for an extra charge.”
More info on the appliance and scrap metal drop off day can be found online at PerryIA.org. Additionally, the website has information on the household hazardous waste collection and the tire drop off day, which are both scheduled for Saturday, July 15th.
