With the 37th Annual Bell Tower Festival now upon us, visitors and participants are reminded to enjoy all the activities while keeping safety in mind.
Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says his department will be focused on ensuring that public safety is their top priority during the festival.
“We do have extra officers out both days. We’ll be patrolling the City and walking around uptown and just doing everything we can do to make it a safe experience for everyone that comes to town.”
He describes the areas that the officers will keep an extra eye on both Friday and Saturday.
“Most of the activities will be occurring uptown on the courthouse square, so obviously you’ll see a presence up there. The beverage garden which usually has bands performing on both nights of the festival, our presence will be known there as well.”
Clouse asks for everyone to be courteous and respectful during the festival and obey all city laws to help keep everyone safe this weekend.
