A seven run top of the sixth carried the Greene County High School baseball team to a 10-1 non-conference victory Thursday night at Merchant’s Park over the Carroll Tigers. The road contest was the sixth of the season for the Rams, and number seven is tonight at Gilbert in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action. Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams improved to 4-5 with the win while the Tigers fell to 0-8. The contest was broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The game was tied 1-1 until the top of the fifth when the Rams scored twice for a 3-1 lead. They sent 12 batters to the plate and scored seven times in the sixth for the final margin. Greene County had 12 hits including two each from Chase Stoline, Ben Wilkins, Trey Tucker, and Ben Bravard. Stoline had a double. Tom Gannon tripled and drove in two runs, while Tucker had a run batted in. Logan Lansman had two RBI on a base hit, and Wade Adcock singled and had one RBI. The Rams also played errorless defense.

Dylan Fouch went the first six innings on the mound for the Rams, allowing just the one run on three hits with six strikeouts and two walks. He hit one batter. Bryce Hoyle finished up a scored seventh and allowed a two out single. He fanned two batters.
