For the second straight game, ADM softball would endure costly early errors which last night allowed Carlisle an early lead which they would not look back from defeating the Tigers 11-8.

The costly errors started in the very first inning where two ADM errors coupled with a Merrideth Hoffman 2 run double gave the Lady Wildcats an early 4-0 advantage. A Carlisle 4 run fourth inning that included a three run home run would chase ADM starter Abbie Hlas out of the circle after going over 3 strong innings of work, giving up 6 earned runs, striking out 2 and walking two. Carlisle’s 8-1 lead would not hold up very long as ADM would shrink that lead thanks to a 5 run bottom of the fourth inning courtesy of a 2 run double by Ashley Tennant and a 3 run blast by Kila Carbine for her second home run of the season.

The bats would continue to prove very powerful for the Lady Wildcats picking up three runs in the top of the sixth inning thanks to an Alyvia Dubois two run blast to left and a solo home run to left center by Merrideth Hoffman. ADM would pick up two more runs of their own in the bottom of the 7th from Abbie Hlas and Lexi Wyant but it was not enough as ADM ran out of outs falling 11-8.

Ashley Tennant proved to be one of the biggest bats for ADM earning a 3-4 and two RBI night. With one swing of the bat Kila Carbine connected on her team leading 17th RBI of the season. ADM now drops to 8-5 overall with an even 3-3 record inside the Raccoon River Conference. Next up for ADM will be a road contest against former conference foe Dallas Center-Grimes tonight with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 pm.
