There are a variety of acts for the beverage garden lined up this year for the Bell Tower Festival, but the Ladies of the 80s is the headliner for Saturday night. Raven is one of the performers and says their band, like PopRocks, goes through 40 costume changes and covers music from the 1980s. She points out with that many costume changes, it can sometimes be a challenge.
“I’ll tell you that backstage we’re moving pretty quickly when we’re doing our changes. And there’s a lot of fun accidents sometimes that happens because of that. That’s probably the biggest challenge is to keep the flow going when we’re doing those quick costume changes. But I’ll tell you, we’ve been doing it long enough now, that we have it down to a science.”
Raven describes the influence that started her musical career.
“One of the very first concerts I went to when I was 16, it was Heart. And I was just blown away by their vocals. I played that album, and actually it was still vinyl wore the grooves out on that one.”
Ladies of the 80s will perform from 9pm to 1am. Setting up the headliner is Brad Morgan, who is performing from 7 to 8:30pm. Pre-sale tickets are $8 and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office in the new welcome center.
