Greene County School District will still be in session following Memorial Day, but the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2017 is tomorrow.

The graduation ceremony will take place at 2pm at the middle school gym in Jefferson. High School Principal Brian Phillips says he’s looking forward to seeing this year’s senior class graduate.

“We’ve had a lot of individual accomplishments in the fine arts and in the sports area. If I highlight one than somebody’s going to be mad that I didn’t highlight somebody else. But we’ve just got a really great group of young adults that are getting ready to graduate this Sunday and it’s going to be a great time for everyone.”

Over 90 students are anticipated to participate in commencement and the guest speaker is magistrate and attorney David Morain.

The public is invited to attend.
