For the second time since the start of 2017, the 100+ People for Perry has given a large sum of money to a local nonprofit project. This time it’s the “Perry Art on the Prairie” project that’s the beneficiary of the funds.

Last Monday at the meeting in the Cellar at La Poste, 67 members of the organization gathered to decide which project they would support. Each member gave $100, so a total of $6,700 was donated to the project. This was the sixth meeting of 100+ People for Perry, and so far they have contributed $40,400 to six different local projects.

The goal of the organization is to make four large donations each year, which will positively impact the Perry community. Each contribution stays completely in the community, so no national charities will be considered. The next 100+ People for Perry meeting will be held Monday, August 28th. They are always looking for new members, so anyone interested in joining is encouraged to contact Mark Powell at 515-465-4641 or mpowell@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us, or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com.
