The Jefferson Municipal cemetery service will start at 10:45am. The local fire department will conduct the raising of the American flag ceremony, followed by the raising of the Lindsay “Medal of Honor” flag. The Greene County High School band will then perform “Salute to Freedom” and Pastor Gordon Moen will deliver the invocation. The Patriotic Essay winners will read their stories. A Memorial day address will be presented by Retired Sergeant-Major Jim Riley, followed by the high school band performing the National Anthem. The service will wrap up with the VFW and American Legion’s firing squad and Taps being played.
Both services are open to the public.
